Garuda Purchasing Short-Haul Aircraft to Speed Development in Eastern and Western Indonesia

In support of Indonesia’s Master Plan to Accelerate Millennial Development (MP3I), Garuda Indonesia is purchasing 15 Bombardier CRJ 1000 aircraft from Canada.
The first phase of the purchase will see 12 units delivered before the end of 2013 with the remaining 3 aircraft to arrive in 2013.
Garuda plans to deploy the CRJ 1000 aircraft in the eastern and western regions of Indonesia serving remote area in order to widen the spread of national development programs.
Over the coming three years, Garuda Indonesia will also be adding Brazilian-built ATR 72 aircraft. Starting in December 2013 the first of a total of 25 new ATR 72 will be delivered to the Indonesian carrier.
