A 2-day Soulshine Festival comes to Bali December 27-28, 2013 boasting two-days of the very best in local and international musicians each day from 11:00 am until 2:00 am centered at Bali’s Green School.

Funds raised from the musical festival will support Bumi Sehat Natural Birthing Clinics in Bali and Aceh, and the Green School Indonesian Scholarship Fund.

Celebrating music and the environment, musical performance will be intermixed with environmentally themed presentations and children activities promoting sustainability.

Top Entertainment on the Stage at Bali’s Green School

Among the musical acts scheduled to appear on Friday, December 27, 2013 are Michael Franti & Spearhead, Trevor Hall, Afronesia, Supa Kalulu, Nasi Campur and DJ Stevie G. On the second day look for Michael Franti & Spearhead to return with Nahko & Friends, Ethan Tucker, Navicula, Jim Larkin & The Saucy Soul Band, Norma Jean and DJ Marco.

Headlining the festival is the American poet, musician, recording star and composer Michael Franti who has made Bali his second home since 2006.

Franti appears as the lead singer and creator of the band, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Michael blends music with a strong social conscience promoting peace, social justice and the preservation of the nature environment.

Mentioning the major force driving the Festival, Franti said: “The Soulshine Festival is about coming together to celebrate life—the life of our planet—and the power we all have to make a difference. Come and join us for a magical time in Bali.”

Commenting on what will become his eighth community fund raising event in Bali, Franti added: “I’m excited to share two days of family-friendly music and inspiring environmental activities in one of the most stunning locations in Bali, the amazing Green School. The Soulshine Festival will benefit Bumi Sehat Natural Birthing Clinics, who are working to save lives of mothers and children in Indonesia. We will also benefit the Green School’s Indonesian scholarship program that offers free education to local children.”

Location

The setting for the festival will be the Green School Soccer Field with activities running on each day from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.
