Because of the generous support of Conrad Bali Resort and Spa, plans are moving ahead to hold a commemoration ceremony for the 107 victims who perished on Pan Am Flight 812 on April 22, 1974 in Tinga-Tinga, North Bali.
The ceremony will take place at the Pan American Monument located on the banks of the Ayung River in Padang Galak, near Sanur, Bali. Plans are for the hour-long event to commence at 4:00 pm with participation by an international gamelan group, a choir and representatives of all the major religions found in Indonesia.
Organizers are hoping to honor those who died in the crash while at the same creating an event that unites all elements of the local community in music, song and prayers.
Details of the event will be published as they become available.
All are welcome to attend the event with a special invitation to any surviving members from the immediate family of those who perished in the crash.
