Hilton Worldwide have announces plans to work with the Indonesian company Bali Ragawista to open Indonesia’s first Waldorf Astoria Hotel in 2017.
Waldorf Astoria Bali will be located in Bukit Pandawa on the southern tip of the island overlooking the Indian Ocean.
The Jakarta Globe reports that Ragawisata refused to disclose the actual size of the investment when they contacted the company for comment. It is known, however, that the resort will occupy a 13-hectare site and offer 96-villas.
Hilton Worldwide senior vice president Andrew Clough said: “Bali, the biggest travel destination in Indonesia, is one of the most famous vacation sites in Asia. We’re happy to work together with a prominent partner like Bali Ragawisata, and showcase a famous luxury brand for the first time in Indonesia’s market.”
Hilton Worldwide currently operates the Conrad Bali Resort at Tanjung Benoa. The company will also open two Hilton Garden Inns in Bali. The first Hilton Garden Inn will open in 2014 near Bali’s airport and another in Kuta in 2016.
