Landheer and Nagelkerke covered the distance in only five hours on Sunday, April 20, 2014.
“Initially we only wanted to ride our bicycles, but after we thought about it and not wishing to waste the trip we dedicated it to people suffering from AIDS,” explained Mathieu who owns the Villa Blue Bamboo
The two traveled by car from Canggu in West Bali to Karangasem where their bikes were unloaded to start the trip from Tirta Gangga. The trip traversed Candi Dasa, Gianyar, Ubud, Taman Ayun and ended at iconic Tanah Lot.
The Dutch cyclers collected some Rp. 90 million (US$7,825) in donations from well-wishers, supporters and followers of their Facebook

that were all used to buy powdered milk and cash donations to the Kerti Praya Foundation
Thanking the Dutch cyclers for their donation, Professor Dr. Dewa Nyoman Wirawan, who founded the Foundation, confirmed that Bali has 1,600 people suffering from AIDS. Of that total, 875 were recommended to undergo antiretroviral therapy (ARV)
, with only 475 still undergoing treatment. The remaining 375 have ceased treatment due to death, cessation of treatment or a change of address.
