Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has been awarded Bali's Governor Made Mangku Pastika a Satya Lencana Pembangunan Award presented for extraordinary service to the Nation in the area of National Development.
Governor Pastika told the press: “This award represents the manifestation of the Central Government’s appreciation for the hard work from all parties in Bali. This is not the result of only my work, but the hard work of the farmers supported by the regional and municipal governments in Bali, the stakeholders and the general public.”
The award to Bali’s governor was made at the opening of the 14th National Farmers and Fishermen’s Week held in Malang, East Java on June 8, 2014
In accepting the award, Governor Pastika said the honor should serve as a starting point and an incentive to make the Bali Mandara program of public welfare for the people of Bali touch the lives of all people living in Bali. All parties, said the governor, should resolve to work more intelligently, faster, more progressively and in a more innovative fashion.
In presenting the award, President Yudhoyono said that what had been done by those receiving this award should become an example for all Indonesians. He urged everyone to work harder to advance the agricultural, fishing and forestry sectors.
