Of the 1,044,000 electrical power (PLN) customers in Bali, some 394,000 or 38% using 900 kva or more saw their power bills go up on July 1, 2014.
As reported by Beritabali.com, the general manager of PT PLN Bali, Syamsul Huda, said those using 900 kva or more saw their bill go up on July 1, 2014.
Power bills are scheduled to increase every two months thereafter until the end of 2014.
Household and business electrical tariffs increases between 5-11% on July 1, 2014, depending on the level of electricity provided to the consumer.
On September 1st power costs will again increase substantially, followed by another increase scheduled for November 1st.
The decision to increase electricity tariffs has been mandated by a decision of the House of Representatives (DPR) to take effect nationality to reduce the cost of government fuel subsidies.
