Certain that air traffic downturns due to the war in Iraq and SARS will have a short-term effect on the travel market, Garuda Indonesia have announced plans to add new Asian destination as well as increase frequencies to existing ports.
New Destinations
New destinations to be served by Garuda starting in June include flights from Jakarta - Hong Kong; Surabaya – Singapore – Hong Kong; Surabaya – Kuala Lumpur; Jakarta – Bangkok; and Jakarta – Singapore – Beijing.
Additional Capacity on Existing Routes
Effective June 1, 2003, Garuda's Jakarta – Singapore – Amsterdam service will be increased from three to four times a week.
From March 30, 2003, Garuda has already increased direct service from Denpasar (Bali) – Tokyo from five to seven times each week.
Denpasar – Brisbane – Auckland (NZ) service has also been boosted from 2 to 3 times each week, effective March 30, 2003.
