World Peace Concert in Bali June 14

Top Talent Promised in a Musical Event Slated to be Televised to Audience of 3 Million.

Bali News: World Peace Concert in Bali June 14

(4/26/2003)

The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park has been booked for a mega-concert on Saturday, June 14, 2003, that promoters boast will draw some of the world's top performers to a Bali stage in an event that will be broadcast to an estimate 3 billion viewers worldwide.

World Peace Music Awards Concert

Coordinated by a team world renowned music and concert producers, top international performers have pledged their talents to a global event in celebration of world peace. Among those performers listed on the organizer's website as committed to perform at the Bali event include Sheryl Crow (USA), Mark Anthony (Latin America), INXS (Australia), Anggun (Indonesia), Big Mountain (USA), Stewart Copeland (The Police - U.K.), Zap Mama (France), Justin Hayward (Moody Blues - U.K.), Baba-G (India), Emma Shapplin (France), Love Psychedelice (Japan), Jau Chou (Taiwan), Juaquin Cortez (Spain), F.L.Y. Trio (Russia), Regine Velasquez (Philippine), Zucchero (Italy), Alabina (Israel), Hakem (Egypt), and Kinky (Latin America).

Satellite Broadcast

The concert will be broadcast live by a team of top film and sound engineers assembled from the U.K., U.S.A. and Japan who will supply a live "free" feed available to television networks everywhere.

Inspired By a Night of Tragedy

Those who have organized the World Peace Concert in Bali drew their inspiration from the tragic events on the night of October 12, 2002, when a terrorist bomb claimed more than 200 lives at a Kuta night spot.

Artists, technicians and promoters are donating their services to the concert, joining forces to underline Bali's message of peace to the world. In the words of the promoters and recalling the fateful night last October, the "concert is not so much a memorial, but a continuation of the party." Adding defiantly, "the music will not stop!"
