Indonesia's President Megawati Soekarnoputri recently visited Bali to officially preside over the opening of the 52nd Annual Conference of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) held here, April 13-17, 2003.
Staying overnight on the island to be on hand for her early morning appearance at the Conference, Ibu Megawati and her entourage stayed at the 276-room Sheraton Laguna Resort in Nusa Dua, reported to be her third stay at the resort.
Other VIP guests who have chose the 5 star resort for their stay in Bali include former South African President Nelson Mandela, Australian Prime Minister John Howard, East Timor President Xanana Gusmao and Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer.
