Expected Six Months of Trials for 30 Suspects to Begin with Amrozi.


Bali News: Bombing Trials Commence May 12

Amrozi, one of 30 suspects being held by Bali police in connection with the October 12th bombing of a Kuta nightspot that claimed 202 lives, goes on trial on Monday, May 12, 2003.

Facing a possible death sentence if convicted, Amrozi's trial date was announced by on Monday, May 5th by Ida Bagus Dwiantara, a spokesman for the Denpasar Court.

A large number of foreign media are expected to cover the trial. Bali Discovery Tours and the Sanur Prime Plaza Hotel will be operating a trial center to assist visiting media throughout the course of the trials expected to last 6 months.
