(5/26/2003)

At a press conference held in conjunction with EIBTM in Geneva, Switzerland on May 20, 2003, representatives from Bali's Meetings, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition industry presented an award to Mr. Tom Nutley, Chairman of Reed Travel Exhibition.

Citing Mr. Nutley's support to Bali Tourism, four representatives from the Bali MICE Initiative representing some of the island's leading destination management companies presented the award. Handing the award to Mr. Nutley were Ida Bagus Lolec of Pacific World Nusantara, John Daniels of Bali Discovery Tours, Marc Jacobs of Kelana DMC and Roberto A. Don of Lotus Asia Tours.

During a visit to Bali to attend the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Conference in April, Mr. Nutley reached out to Bali's travel industry devising a strategy that allowed the Bali MICE Initiative and Casa Grande – the local association of star-rated hotels to jointly sponsor a destination booth at the Geneva travel show specifically targeted at the European meeting and conference industry.

Tom Nutley joined Reed Exhibitions in 1982, assuming control of the World Travel Mart in 1984. Since 1992, he has held responsibility at Reed for the development of travel events worldwide, launching the Arabian Travel Market in the Middle East, C.I.S. Travel Market in St. Petersburg, International Golf Travel Market, and Mediterranean Travel Fair. He also is responsible for all other travel events managed by Reed including the British Travel Fair, the AsiaPacific Incentive and Meetings Expo (AIME), EIBTM, Asia Business Travel Market (ABTM) and Top Resa held in France.

Ida Bagus Lolec, a senior member of Bali's MICE industry, in commenting on the award to Mr. Nutley, said "the Bali travel industry appreciates Tom Nutley's leadership and vision, especially during the current crisis."
