The Australian Government has abolished a AU$ 10 surcharge levied on all airline passengers to contribute to the cost of severance packages for former employees of failed Ansett Airlines, which collapsed in September 2001.
The Australian Department of Transportation said the surcharge would be dropped commencing with all flights departing in July.
As a result, it's now AU$ 10 or US$ 6.57 cheaper to fly from Australia to Bali.
