Swiss Cows in Bali - a not-to-be-forgotten exhibition of some 50 hand-painted, full-sized polyester cows will soon arrive at various locations across the island ending their journey in a gala street fair and auction at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park on August 9, 2003.
Life-sized and half-sized cows have been cast in hard plastic material and turned over to some of Bali's leading artists. Arriving in a plain stark-white condition, the cows have been transformed into uniquely Balinese works of art. The results are hard to describe; imagine how cows would look if God had hired a Balinese consultant to do the final design work. Or, better yet, visit the website via the link below and see pictures of Bali's very own herd of Swiss Cows for yourself.
The cows will begin suddenly appearing at various public spots across the island on July 24th leading up to a grand one-day exhibition on Saturday, August 9, 2003, at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. Admission to the exhibition and auction is free with the Park waiving its normal admission fees on August 9th to facilitate visitors wishing to see the painted cows.
Again, we encourage you to view the cows via the website to begin to appreciate the Balinese improvement on the God's time-tested bovine model. Join us and join the fun on August 9th to view all the cows first hand or to bid for your favorite.
Incidentally, if you see a cow on the website that you simply must have, contact balidiscovery.com and we'll try to help coordinate a long distance bid for you.
Proceed from the sale of the Swiss Cows in Bali will be shared with the artists and various social projects run by the Rotary Club Nusa Dua, Bali.
