The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have made a significant step in helping to improve Bali's security through the donation of two x-ray units for use by local Custom's officials at Ngurah Rai airport's cargo terminal.
The units, manufactured in the United Kingdom, commended operation of August 1, 2003, following technical demonstration and training carried out at the facility by representatives from the Japanese Tax and Excise Office.
The equipment brings to a total of ten the number of x-ray units in operation at Ngurah Rai Airport used by officials to monitor both imports and exports to the island.
