After nearly 7 years overseeing the operation of the Four Seasons Resort at Jimbaran Bay and Four Seasons Resort Sayan, Christopher Norton is leaving Bali to assume a regional role with Four Seasons Hotels.
An American who began his hotel career in Zurich in 1974, Norton has also worked in a wide-range of hospitality positions in France; Atlanta, Georgia; Washington, D.C.; Florida; New York City; Germany; and Montreal, Canada.
Moving to Bali in 1996, Norton was appointed General Manager of the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay. In 2001 the readers of Travel & Leisure Magazine again voted this hotel the #1 Hotel/Resort Worldwide. Gallivanter's Guide readers selected Norton as one of the World's Top 10 General Managers.
In March 1998, Norton opened the second Four Seasons property in Bali, the Four Seasons Resort Sayan. Under his supervision, the Ubud property now rivals the Jimbaran Bay property and has been featured in numerous press articles and has won numerous international awards, including #1 Asian resort by the readers of Conde Nast Traveller in 2003.
In his new role as Regional Vice President and General Manager based at the 254-room Four Seasons Singapore, Norton will have continuing responsibilities for the two Four Seasons Resorts in Bali, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa and The M.V. Island Explorer - a luxury mini cruiser based at the Maldives property.
While in Bali, Chris Norton's industry involvement was very active serving as Chairman of the Casa Grande Hotel Association for several years.
Christopher Norton is married to his wife, Brigitte with whom he has three children, Christina, Adrien and Charles.
