(8/12/2003)

Bali International Lawn Bowls Club will be holding the San Miguel Bowls Classic Tournament on August 17 and 18, 2003 with Rp. 10 million (approximately US$ 1,160) in prize money.

The competition, open for 2 person teams of men, women or mixed pairs, is available to all levels of play from experienced bowlers to rank beginning players. John Same, the Manager of the Bali International Lawn Bowls Club explained that the unpredictability of tournament play resulting from mixing experienced with beginning players means "even beginning players have the chance of walking away with prize money."

The cost of entering the competition is only Rp. 900,000.- (approximately US$ 105) per 2 man team and covers 6 games of 15 ends over 2 days, a lunch, and 2 dinners including the festive award dinner.

Prizes to be Won

A total of Rp. 10 millions in prizes are up for grabs:

• 1st Prize Rp. 5 million

• 2nd Prize Rp. 2 million

• 3rd Prize Rp. 1 million

• 6 Individual Round Winners of Rp. 300,000 each.

Warm-up rounds start on Saturday, August 16th at 5 p.m. followed by a BBQ dinner. Competition gets underway with 3 games (15 ends) at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 17th followed by lunch. The final 3 games of competition commences on Monday at 1 p.m. followed by a award dinner.
