As part of the continuing celebrations of the Kuta Karnival and its island-wide slate of activities scheduled between September 11 – October 12, 2003, the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel & Villas will be hosting its very own Oktoberfest on September 28-29, 2003.
A complete range of German food and drinks served to music from a genuine oompah German band will be on offer.
The festival menu includes Bratwurst, Bavarian, Frankfurter and Thuringer sausages, goulash soup, roasted chicken, bier stick, herring, Black Forest ham, sausage and potato salads, pork kassler with sauerkraut and dumplings, meat loaf and mashed potatoes. Visits can then wash it all down with Erdinger Weissbier, original German Apfel schnapps, wine and apple spritzers.
Entertainment planned include beer drinking and snuff tobacco competitions; and contests requiring contestants to hammer nail into a wood log and lumber sawing matches.
The oompah band will play each evening between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m..
