The 4th Annual Bali Fashion Week will be held October 13-15, 2003, with programs and festivities centered at the Bali Inter-Continental Resort at Jimbaran bay.

Actually 3 days in duration despite promoting itself as a week-long event, the "week" promises to offer non-stop fashion shows, arts and crafts displays, presentations and seminars showcasing the best of Indonesian high fashion.

As in the past 3 years, the fashion exhibition is expected to draw international garment and fashion buyers to Bali to meet with Indonesia's top designers and manufacturers. Haute Couture, ready-to-wear, and textiles and fashions inspired by Indonesia's rich textile cottage industry will all be on offer to the people who set the trends and taste of the coming fashion seasons.

Opening Coincides with Bombing Commemoration

The opening of the Fashion Week will be marked with a pool-side cocktail at the Bali Inter-Continental Resort and will feature remarks by national celebrity Surya Paloh and Bali's Governor Dewa Made Beratha. This will be followed by a speech by Indonesia's Minister of Culture and Tourism, I Gede Ardika, commemorating the tragic terrorist attack on Bali of one year ago. The formal opening of the event will then be officiated over by Indonesia's Minister of Industry and Trade, Rini Soewandi.

Daily Exhibition

From October 13 through 15, 2003, a daily trade fair will be held in the Resort's Grand Ballroom between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. showcasing clothing and fashion, traditional and modern textile products, fashion accessories, and jewelry.

A series of seminars and workshops are scheduled during the course of the exhibition.
