After a break of six years, Garuda Indonesia has resumed air service to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The thrice-weekly service recommences December 16, 2003, and is scheduled to operate each Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday from Jakarta with an intermediate stop in Singapore.
Bali Connections Available
Passengers wishing to connect from Bali to Vietnam will have the option of an overnight in Jakarta in order to catch the early 6:45 departure time or flying to Singapore in time to link up with the flight as it departs from the Lion City at 10:45 a.m.. On the southbound leg, the aircraft leave Ho Chi Minh City at 1:35 p.m. arriving in Singapore at 4:35 p.m. with plenty of time to connect with an onward flight to Denpasar (Bali).
Garuda will operate Boeing 737-400 aircraft carrying 134 passengers (14 Business and 120 Economy Class) on the new route.
The new service has been introduced by Garuda in order to take advantage of the dramatic traffic growth between Indonesian and Vietnam, estimated to have grown an average 30% annually since 2000. Over 100,000 passengers are expected to travel this sector in 2003.
