The continuing Bali Police Crackdown on nightspots involved in the illicit drug trade prompted a raid on Café Bibir  located on Jalan Pura Demak No. 4 in Denpasar.

Bibir is Indonesian for “Lips.

In a surprise raid on Sunday, July 16, 2017, police found a quantity of ecstasy and marijuana and discoverrf tens of people reportedly testing positive for drug use.

When police determined that bar had no operating license a decision was made to close the bar and put its entrance under police seal.

Beritabali.com said a combined force of 223 police officers from the various divisions in the Bali police were involved in the surprise raid.

Despite the large number of police personnel involved, the raid was conducted on a secret basis. When police came through the entrance, 21 men and woman were found to be “high” and "tripping," prompting police to bring them to police headquarters to undergo urinalysis.

Police also found 5 ecstasy capsules, a small quantity of marijuana and clips used for the consumption of methamphetamines. Police also confiscated a “bong,” a knife and soft gun cartridges.

Unable to show an operating license, the police wrapped a police line across the entrance and declared the Bibir Café sealed and closed.
