National Police Headquarters have sent the investigative files for three suspects connected with the discovery of 19,000 ecstasy pills at the Akasaka Discotechque in Denpasar that was closed after a police raid conducted on Monday, June 5, 2017.

With the evidence files complete, prosecutors are expected to proceed with preparing the cases against Dedi Setiawan alias Cipeng (51), Budi Liman Santoso (38), and Iskandar Halim alias Koi (31) for trial. All three face the possibility that State Prosecutors may seek the maximum penalty of execution before a firing squad.

As reported by NusaBali, still to be charged is the supposed ringleader and general manager of the nightspot is Abdul Rahman alias Willy (54) who also netted in the police raid. Police say the evidence file against Willy is still in preparation.

In a nationwide police effort, Dedi Setiawan was arrested in Banten on June 1, 2017, prior to the Denpasar raid. Information provided by Setiawan helped police uncover that Budi Liman Santoso and Iskandar Halim had sent the 19,000 ecstasy pills to the popular Bali nightspot.

On June 4, 2017, still prior to the raid on the Akasaka Nightclub one day later, police arrested Budi Liman and Iskandar Halim at the Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel. The two men were found with 19,000 pills in their possession, narcotics they claimed were ordered by the Akasaka general manager, Willy.

The next day, police arrested Willy in the act of receiving the 19,000 pills confiscated the day before at the Akasaka nightclub.

Police say they hope the evidence file against Willy will be complete and ready to send to prosecutors in the coming week.

The Akasaka Discotheque has remained closed since the June 5th police raid.
