On Wednesday, April 14, 2004, Nigel Mason, the Founder of Bali Adventure Tours (BAT) celebrated his 60th birthday at Adventure House - his home and headquarters on the island.
Not known for doing anything by 'halves' – the celebration was a grand affair attended by hundred of employees and friends who were treated to copious quantities of food and drinks together with music served up by local musicians.
Nigel, who has lived in Bali over the past three decades, has very successfully built up a simple restaurant operation to become a tourism empire which includes a large tour and adventure company that offers white-water rafting, wilderness trekking experiences, paragliding, and the island's much-praised elephant safari park in Taro, Central Bali.
The picture shows Nigel Mason at his 60th birthday celebration accompanied by his wife, Yanni, and his two sons.
