Bali Hotel Association (BHA) sponsored a half-day seminar on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the Bali Dynasty Resort in South Kuta on effective E-Commerce strategies for Bali's hotel operators.
Featured speakers at the conference attended by approximately 30 senior sales and management representatives from local hotels were:
• Ms. Melina Caruso, Director of Business Development at the MMC Marketing Group.
• Mr. John M. Daniels cha, President Director of Bali Discovery Tours and balidiscovery.com.
• Mr. Stephen J. Michie, Managing Director of the Singapore-headquartered Anti Spam Council and a well-known expert in e-commerce and hotel marketing.
The seminar covered a number of topics including how hotels should select third party Internet partners; rate strategies that work on the Internet; establishing and maintaining distribution communities on the Internet; and the legal steps available to combat cyber squatting and other unethical e-commerce practice inimical to a hotel's brand equity.
The seminar was particularly timely in light of current steps by the BHA to formulate a policy of good practice for websites featuring member hotels of the Association.
