Korean Airlines announced this week that they will resume air service to the island resort of Bali following a near 5 years absence. The airline ended its flights to Bali in 1998 after a serious drop in consumer demand resulting from the Asian financial crisis of 1997 - 1998.
Press reports say the Seoul to Denpasar (Bali) service will commence October 3, 2004, and operate twice-weekly on Sunday and Wednesday.
The flights will be operated under a code-sharing agreement with Garuda Indonesia Airlines that gives the Indonesian airline 100 seats to sell on each departure.
Korea, which has emerged as one of Bali's largest inbound markets, has suffered from a serious lack of passenger seats in the connection between Seoul and Bali.
