At least 300 entrepreneurs from Australia and Indonesia are expected to attend the Indonesia – Australia Business Conference scheduled to be held in Bali April 18-19, 2005.
The conference is organized by the Indonesia Australia Business Council (IABC), whose membership include 300 Jakarta companies and 100 more companies located in Semarang, Surabaya and Bali – all with Australian ownership or business affiliations.
According to Elly Hutabarat, Vice President of the IABC, the purpose of the conference is to invite potential investors to see the current business climate in Indonesia first-hand. "The reaction from the Australian people towards the new government (in Indonesia) has been very positive because of the developments in the field of law and labor," said Ms. Hutabarat.
To capitalize on the growing good will between the Australian and Indonesian business communities the conference has adopted the theme: Indonesia – Window of Opportunity."
Several Ministers of State from both Indonesia and Australia are expected to attend the event scheduled to be held in the Tanjung Benoa area of Bali.
