History will repeat itself when the radiantly lovely Shinta Dewi exchanges wedding vows with Ian Palmer Knox at Bali's Puri Santrian Resort on Tuesday, August 14.
Some 29 years ago, in 1972, Shinta's Mother and Father celebrated their nuptials a bit further up the beach at the Grand Bali Beach. Back then, a young Australian diplomat, Kerry Collison, head-over-heels in love, made a young Balinese dancer Ni Nyoman Sukasani his lover ever after.
Season followed season: the diplomat became a successful Jakarta-based oil sector entrepreneur; the author of a number of thrilling espionage novels set in Indonesia; and, along the way, a beautiful daughter was born to Kerry and Sani. Now a gorgeous young woman, she has decided that she should follow in the steps of her parents and be married on Bali's famed Sanur Beach.
True love and happily ever after: Standard fare on the tropical island of Bali. Little wonder that so many couples come "home" to Bali to pledge their troth.
