SKAL'S Annual Charity Ball September 01

Travel Professionals Adopt a Desert Island Theme for their 5th Annual Costume Ball set for Saturday, September 01.

Bali News: SKAL'S Annual Charity Ball September 01

(7/24/2001)

Tickets are now available for Bali Skal Club's "Treasure Island" 5th Annual Charity Costume Ball. This year's theme of "Treasure Island" will see members of the local travel industry look more like pirates and wenches than is normally the case when they attend the event at Bali's Nusa Dua Resort and Spa on Saturday, September 01.

The annual SKAL International Bali charity ball has become one of the most popular annual community events on the island. The evening includes pre-dinner cocktails and canapes, three-course seated dinner, free-flow beer, wine, soft drinks, dance music and entertainment. Scores of prizes will be awarded via auctions, raffles, costume and door prizes.

In keeping with the theme, among the auction packages on offer will be the chance to be a real castaway on a deserted island with accommodation in 15 Hai Tide Huts (with private return transfers), and a private helicopter charter to a secluded beach for a picnic. Sobek will auction a Team Building Excursion for 16, aimed to build company teamwork, test skills with pre- and post-activity evaluation for management's assessment. Also, revelers will have the opportunity to win an overnight stay immediately after the Ball.

Party goers are encouraged to dress in costume. Theme suggestions include Treasure Island, castaway, pirates, tribal, Gilligan's Island, Robinson Crusoe, Survivor, Fantasy Island, Captain Cook, Blue Lagoon, and Spice Islands.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Bali orphanages, tourism scholarships and various tourism industry projects.

Skal International is the world's largest international professional tourism industry organization with more than 25,000 members in more than 530 clubs worldwide. The Skal Club of Bali has 60 members.

Advance tickets are Rp. 500,000 net, or Rp. 4.5 million for a table of 10. Tickets are available from the Skal International Bali Secretary - Joanne Rule, at ER Tours, Jl. Tirta Ening 9X,Sanur.
