Garuda Indonesia have announced that effective October 28, service to the Thai capital city of Bangkok will cease to operate.
The decision by the airline is an extension of the recent decision to increase to daily the flight frequency between Frankfurt and Indonesia. Currently, Garuda offers 3 flights each week from London via Bangkok to Bali. The change in routings will now see Garuda's European customers bound for Bali compelled to transit Jakarta on their way to Bali.
A number of major U.K. operators have complained that the change in routing will make Bali "a harder sell" with Bangkok and Bali a popular holiday combination with European holiday travelers.
