Pasar Wisata or TIME 2001 – Tourism Indonesian Mart & Expo continues to attract interest from both buyers and sellers. Scheduled to be held in Jakarta, September 11-15, at the Jakarta International Convention Center, the event is now in its eighth year. In the wake of the recent lackluster showing of the Bali Travel Mart and widespread speculation that this year's event in Bali may have been the last of its kind, TIME 2001 may well become Indonesia's only international travel show.

Ms. Meity Robot, the Operational Chairwoman of this year's event, reports that TIME 2001 has already attracted 45 foreign buyers – a number expected to grow to at least 100 by show time. On the sellers' side, some 104 participants are expected including participation by a number of provincial tourism offices from across Indonesia. Ms. Robot also emphasized that the "show will go on" despite the slowness of the Jakarta City Government to provide much needed financial support to the event. According to Robot, "whether there's financial support or not from the Jakarta City government, TIME 2001 will go on. We have a number of other sponsors prepared to help us hold the event."

Adopting the theme of "meeting all of Indonesia under one roof", TIME 2001 will represent a unique opportunity for travel agents and wholesalers to obtain product information and negotiate prices with operators traveling to Jakarta from across an archipelago that stretches some 5,000 kilometers along the equator.

Buyers can register to participate by paying US$ 250 which will entitle them to 75% discounts on airfare, hotel accommodation during the exhibition, ground transport and participation in all the event’s social calendar. Meanwhile, sellers' booths are available for Rp. 6 million (US$ 600) with an additional delegate charge of Rp. 1.5 million (US$150).

The TIME 2001 website is expected to be operational during the week of 05 August at http://www.pasarwisata.com.
