April in Paris

Ony Eko Foedjajanti (Ony), a veteran of 5 years employment at the Bali Resort was recently voted "Employee of the Year" by the staff and management of the hotel and, as a result, was awarded an all-expense-paid trip to Paris.

Traveling to Paris in April 2005, Ony joined more than 100 other Employees of the Year from Le Meridien Hotels around the world for a four-night stay in Paris at Le Meridien Montparnasse.

Her first trip abroad, Ony recently shared stories of her trip and photographs with balidiscovery.com.

Arriving a chilly April morning in late April, Ony, who has lived her entire life in the warm tropics, was immediately amazed to discover nature caught in a change of season with trees just sprouting their leaves and spring flowers starting to bloom.



Cold and sometimes rainy weather apparently did little to deter Ony from crowding as much sightseeing as she could into her all-too-brief 5 day stay in Paris. Coach and walking tours included visits to the Eiffel Tower (as shown on balidiscovery.com), Notre Dame Cathederal, the Louvre Museum, a night of high-kicking Parisian entertainment at the Lido, a boat cruise on the Seine, and a visit to the Palace at Versailles. All that and Ony even managed to fit in an independent exploration of Paris via the Metro system!

While the sights of Paris formed memories to last a lifetime, Only says the true highlight of her visit was when she was personally presented with her Employee of the Year Award Certificate by Le Meridien's Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Robert Riley, (as shown onbalidiscovery.com) at a Gala Dinner held near the Eiffel Tower that lasted until 3 a.m..
