Spiritual & Yoga Retreats at Como Shambala Estate

Retreats with Dr. Robert Thurman January 6-8 and Sharon Gannon with David Life January 23-29, 2005, at Como Shambala Estate at Begawan Giri.

To help celebrate the launching of the Como Shambala Estate at Begawan Giri - Bali's most lavish private estate is offering two unique world-class programs of personal discovery, yoga and spiritual awakening.

Dr. Robert Thurman - Infinite Life: "A Contemporary Approach to the Buddhist Path to Well Being"

Dr. Robert ThurmanIn 1962, Dr. Robert Thurman became the first American ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist monk. In 1997, Time Magazine chose Thurman as one of the 25 most influential Americans, describing him as a "larger than life scholar-activist destined to convey the dharma, the precious teachings of Siddhartha, from Asia to America." The New York Times recently called him "the leading American Expert on Tibetan Buddhism."

It is Thurman's unique take on the relevance of Buddhism to American culture and politics, and his wit and capacity in weaving ancient Buddhist wisdom and popular Western ideals, that makes his knowledge entertaining, useful and informative.

For a single weekend, January 6-8, 2005, Dr. Thurman will lecture on the essence of the Buddhist insight and path, and speak with participants about their doubts and concerns. The group will learn together, meditate together, dialogue and chant, and conduct an auspicious fire meditation – to realize a profound nature of mine and reality.

A two day program includes two nights accommodation at the Como Shambala Estate at Begawan Giri; lectures and meditations with Dr. Thurman; return airport transfers; 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners; and a one-hour massage treatment.

Rates from US$1,115 for single occupancy and US$1466 (plus tax and service) for double occupancy.
