Garuda Indonesia Airlines have announced their desire to take a lead role in helping Bali's tourism sector recover following the October 1, 2005, terror attack by giving away 10,000 free tickets. Split into two equal lots of 5,000 tickets, half of the free allocation will be given away to Indonesian residents flying domestically with the remaining half set aside for international passengers.

Domestic Ticket Give-Away

Indonesian nationals and temporary residents of Indonesia flying on Jakarta-bound domestic flights with Garuda Indonesia will have a chance to participate in drawings for free tickets to Bali. The drawings will take place on all Jakarta-bound flights over two periods – from November 10 – December 10, 2005 and again from January 10 – February 10, 2006.

The free domestic tickets will be valid for travel between November 2005 to April 2006.

International Ticket Give-Away

According to the Indonesian national Antara News Agency, the method of selecting winners for the 5,000 free international tickets will vary considerably from that used for domestic ticket winners.

5,000 free tickets will be drawn from among foreign nationals at a special event to be organized by Garuda in early January 2006. The international ticket give-away is open only to foreign nationals and valid for travel from anywhere on Garuda's international route network - except from Jeddah, Dammam and Riyadh – for travel between January 8 – May 31, 2006.

How to Enter

According to Antara, those seeking to win a free international ticket should register on line at [ ] between November 10 through December 31, 2005.
