Last Sunday, August 26, well-known Bali restauranteurs Puji and Heinz von Holzen presided at the traditional Balinese ceremonies that officially marked the opening of their new group and theme party venue - Rumah Bali. Literally, A House in Bali, Rumah Bali is built around a Balinese village concept capable of hosting groups of up to 320 people.
Set in Tanjung Benoa, on Bali's Bukit Peninsula, a short distance from the von Holzen's award-winning Balinese restaurant Bumbu Bali, the Rumah Bali offers tropical courtyards for pre-function cocktails, performance stages for cultural presentations, a traditional warung with complete bar and cocktail service, and a range of traditional dining pavilions.
The Food? Balinese, of course, and at its very best.
Heinz von Holzen is the author of the definitive Balinese cook book and his restaurant, Bumbu Bali was recently named the best Balinese restaurant by the Island's Governor. In keeping with Heinz's dedication to the Balinese paon or kitchen, the Rumah Bali is also equipped with a full-fledged teaching kitchen able to accommodate 16 students on his popular half-day cooking course.
The Rumah Bali represents an important addition to Bali's selection of outside dining and theme party venues for the meeting, incentive, conference and exhibition (MICE) market.
