Temp Interaktif reports that the Indonesian Government will hold a Tourism Summit in November 2006 as part of the Coordinating Minister for the People's Welfare program to help re-launch the Indnesian tourism industry.
In announcing the coming summit, Edy Putra Irawadi, the Deputy for Industrial and Commercial Relations for the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, said: "This event will be a summit meeting for leaders who shape the tourism industry."
According to Edy, the event is aimed at encouraging networking among international tourism players while at the same time rebuilding Indonesia's tourism image damaged by recent terrorist incidents. In addition, the November summit will also provide a format for encouraging investment in tourism projects and a venue for important seminars and workshops on tourism and economic development.
The final location for the coming Tourism Summit and its final program have yet to be announced.
