Indonesian tourism received a much-needed morale boost by winning "The Best Exhibitor" award among all Asian countries participating in the just completed ITB -2006 travel fair in Berlin, Germany.
Considered by many the biggest travel event of its kind, ITB-Berlin has been held for 40 consecutive years drawing more than 10,800 exhibitors and over 150,000 visitors during the 4-day exhibition held March 8-12, 2006.
Organized for all of Indonesia on a last-minute and collaborative basis by Bali Village - a stakeholding organization in the Bali Tourism Board; the accompanying pictures on balidiscovery.com demonstrate that the Indonesian booth had a very Balinese feel.
According to Herdy Sayogha of Bali Village, some 48 Balinese travel companies participated at ITB receiving over 8,000 visitors over the course of the show.
