July 2006 has seen a flurry of new senior appointments at hotels and resorts in Bali and Lombok.
• Jork Bosselaar – General Manager of the AliLa Manggis.
Alila Hotels & Resorts have appointed Dutch native Jork Bosselaar as the new General Manager of the 56-room ALiLa Manggis in Karangasem. Bosselaar comes to Bali from an assignment as Assistant Villa Manager at the Amanpuri Villas in Phuket, Thailand, prior to which he held the General Manager's post at two separate boutique resorts in Thailand.
A graduate in Hotel Management from Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, Bosselaar honed his skills in the Dutch Antilles before making his first move to Asia.
• Mirko Agostini – Executive Sous Chef at Grand Hyatt Bali.
Bali's 648-room Grand Hyatt Bali have appointed Mirko Agostini as Executive Sous Chef.
A graduate from the School Hotelier in Milan, Italy, Agostini has held appointments across Europe, Australia and Guam. Prior to his assignment with the Grand Hyatt Bali, Agostini was the Executive Sous Chef at Hyatt Regency Guam for two years.
Born in Milan, Agostini has worked in more than five hotels in Italy. In 1999, he joined the Hyatt Carlton Tower London, UK, as a Sous Chef for their Italian Restaurant "Grissini". After 3 years in London, Agostini travelled to Australia where he was Senior Sous Chef at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Canberra, Australia.
• Rainata Tjoa – Public Relations Manager at The Westin Resort, Nusa Dua.
Rainata Tjoa has been named as Public Relations Manager at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali. Majoring in Graphic Design at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Rainata first arrived in Bali in 1998.
Originally from Jakarta, Rainata now consider Bali her home. Before joining The Westin Resort Rainata worked with several boutique properties in Bali, including participating in the pre-opening team of The Bale Nusa Dua, Bali as the Marketing Communications Manager and as the Marketing Communications Manager of the Hotel Padma Bali in Kuta.
• Marc Denton – General Manager at The Oberoi Lombok.
A dual nation of both his native Switzerland and the U.K., Marc Denton brings 15 years of hospitality industry experience to his new post as General Manager of The Oberoi, Lombok.
A graduate of the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Denton gained his first experiences in hotel management in food & beverage with positions in Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, Canada and Thailand. He has held resident manager positions at the Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa in French Polynesia and most recently at the Beau Rivage in Mauritius. This is Denton's first position with Oberoi Hotels & Resorts.
