Bali mourns the loss of one of its most professional travel operators with the death of Alwi Baria on Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
Prior to establishing Api Tours in 1999, Baria served for a number of years as the Regional Manager for one of Indonesia's leading tourism operators Pacto.
The Vice-Chairman of the Bali chapter of the Indonesian Tour and Travel Operators (ASITA) from 2003-2006, Baria's diverse background included a stint as an academician and university lecturer, and as a tour guide in Sumatra.
Alwi Baria died in Bali following a brief illness.
