Recently launched flight service connecting Bali (Denpasar) and the East Java city of Malang recorded 100% load factors over its initial launch period which coincided with Indonesian national school holiday periods.
Operated by Indonesian Air Transport (IAT), Malang and Bali flights operate three days a week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Ticket prices for the Malang to Denpasar service sell for Rp. 300,000 (approximately US$32). Onward service to Mataram in Lombok is also available with the Malang-Mataram fare selling for Rp. 400,000 (approximately US$43).
The second largest city of East Java, Malang offers a hillside destination renowned for cool mountain temperatures and the apples grown in the region and exported to the rest of Indonesia. The winner of numerous awards for cleanliness, Malang offers easy access to numerous ancient temples, picturesque hill resorts and East Java's magnificent Mount Bromo.
