Tempo Interactive reports that on June 6, 2010 electrical consumption in Bali reached a record high level of 19,896 megawatts.
According to the Managing Director of the State Electrical Board (PT PLN), Dahlan Iskan, speaking before the House of Representatives (DPR): "This is a new record. It has never happened before."
Dahlan told the legislators that PLN is adding 100 megawatts of new power to national power grid each month, as his organizations works hard to meet growing electrical demand.
"But this is also happy news. It means that Indonesia's economy grows extraordinarily," Dahlan added.
