Inspiration for art can come from the most unusual places and circumstances. One particular artistic journey started on a hot and steamy afternoon by a hotel swimming pool. While exploring Bali on his rented motorcycle, Stephen Max Reinhold was caught in a downpour. Soaked to the bone, when he returned to his budget hotel he decided to jump into the swimming pool. It was still raining hard, as he swam with the water at eye level he saw the magic of drops of water hitting the water's surface; splashing, crowning, rebounding and coming back down. He was both fascinated and captivated. That evening he returned with his camera wrapped in a plastic bag – marking the beginning of his water drop pictures that evolved into something Max calls "Liquid Art photography."
In a solo exhibition entitled "Visual Spa", at
Hanna Artspace,on Jalan Raya Pengosekan, Ubud - Bali, from August 23 - September 9, 2010, Stephan Max Reinhold will demonstrate a magical process of when water dances in ways otherwise unnoticed by the human eye. Max considers his images to be a fusion of art and science; beautiful, educational, thought-provoking, and a gentle reminder of the importance of water to our very existence. All images are printed with a large format printer and archival inks onto the highest quality canvas.
