After a search effort over four days, the body of a 41-year-old South Korean diver. Kim Chang Yong, was found early on the morning of Tuesday, September 7, 2010, on the shore of Tanjung Benoa, approximately 1 kilometer from the Hotel Novotel.
The man disappeared while on a diving excursion with a local dive instructor triggering an extensive search along the entire beach by search and rescue workers.
The man's body, still wearing diving equipment, floated to the surface and washed ashore on the fourth day after his disappearance.
Because of a religious ceremony underway on the beach, rescue workers towed the body to nearby Benoa Harbor where it was placed in an ambulance and brought to the morgue at Sanglah General Hospital for autopsy.
Forensic workers at the hospital are ruling the death was due to drowning.
