Just opened in Bali - Sober Haven Bali, is a resort for people recovering from addictions. The new resort in Seminyak is the inspiration of an Australian businessman who wanted to build an oasis of relaxation and serenity for people trying to shake an addiction of any kind.
Brian H., the founder, who like most adherent of any 12-step program and the guests at Sober Haven, keeps his last name private, has made the 12-steps to sobriety part of his life since 1984.
As a frequent visitor to Bali, he saw the need for a resort that provide understanding and support to others living the life of recovery.
Insisting the Sober Haven Bali is not a treatment center, they prefer guests who have been "clean" of their addiction for at least 3 months. What awaits is a relaxing, boutique holiday resort free of the unwanted temptation of the complimentary welcome drink and guest cocktail party by the pool.
12-step meetings are available each morning and evening, wedged in among a busy program of massage, surfing lessons, yoga, cooking classes, hiking tours and other activities.
The attention is on service and cordiality with accommodation available for only 15 people. The resort boasts a spa, swimming pool and meditation area.
