The rapid-fire assault lasted only a few minutes and saw the 15 "make-believe" terrorists disarmed, with some of there number either killed or wounded as the Australian and Indonesian forces rushed through the terminal firing rounds of blanks.
The operation that would have done credit to a Hollywood action films, was dubbed "Dawn Komodo 10" and included 50 Kopassus members and 20 SAS fighters.
Major General Lodewijk Paulus, the Commanding General of Kopassus, told the press: "The first goal of the joint exercise was to enhance the cooperation between these two armed forces. Now, the implications are to increase professionals through a drill that resembles a real field situation."
