The Bali Police have announced their plans to increase the presence of tourism police at all tourism attractions in Bali. Tourism Police (Polisi Pariwisata) are a special division of the police department trained to provide law enforcement and protection services to Bali's visitors.
Police are adding the number of Tourism Police officers at tourism sites to prevent criminal and terrorist activities, and to create an added sense of security for island visitors.
Quoted in beritabali/com, the spokesman for the Bali police, Gde Sugianyar, confirmed that added tourism police will be distributed across all attractions, with at least 100 additional uniformed police deployed along Kuta Beach. "Kuta will get 100 officers because that area has the highest crime rates compared with other tourist destinations in Bali," explained Sugianyar.
Sugianyar said that in addition to more police personnel at tourism attractions, there are also plans to install more CCTV surveillance cameras in areas popular with island visitors.
