On Sunday, October 10, 2010 approximately 100 students and Bali residents hailing from the Indonesian province of Papua, took to the busy streets of Bali's beachfront community of Kuta in an effort to raise funds for the people devastated by recent flooding and mud flows in the district of Wasior, West Papua.
In soliciting donations for residents and visitors in Kuta, the Papuan's handed flowers to passersby and performed spirited West Papuan dances while dressed in traditional costumes.
Generous support and encouragement from the public will see the "street performances" continue during the week to seek much needed funds for the people who have lost hundreds of homes to floods and cost the lives of nearly 150 people.
