Sunday, October 14, 2010, marked the launch of an important published record of Indonesian contemporary artists. "Modern Indonesian Art – from Raden Saleh to Present Day".

The entire 476-page compendium features samples and biographies from 439 Indonesian artists, including numerous Balinese artists.
The Launching, which is part of the "Visit Museum Year 2011" ptogram, was held at
MUSEUM PASIFIKA at Nusa Dua. More than one hundred guests attended the presentation, including 30 Balinese-based artists including Made Wianta, Nyoman Gunarsa, Ketut Budiana, Bagus Indra, Mangu Putra, Suteja Neka of the
Neka Museum, Nyoman Rudana for
Museum Rudana,Tjokorda B. Astika for
Puri Lukisan Museum, and IB Ngurah Wijaya the chairman of the
Bali Tourism Board.The new book was introduced by Dr. Jean Couteau, one of its authors. The book's editor and photographer, Koes Karnadi, was presented by Philippe Augier speaking on behalf of
Museum Pasifika.Attending the event, Nyoman Gunarsa, artist-owner of the
Museum of Contemporary and Classical Art, praised the new art book.
