Thieves in the Balinese Night
Gianyar, Bali Villa Resident Beaten and Robbed of US$200,000. Police Manhunt Underway to catch Gang of 5 Men.

Five armed robbers badly wounded a 68 year-old Italian during a night-time attack that resulted in a financial and property losses of Rp. 2 billion (US$222,000) in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 30, 2010.
According to Kompas.com, police from the Blahbatuh police precinct say Alfredo Delgo suffered severe injuries to his chin and left hand in the course of being pistol whipped.
The attack took place at 3:00 am at the victim's villa in Banjar Cucukan in Gianyar regency where he was asleep with his wife at the time of the robbery. Police believe the robbers also poisoned the family's dog before forcing their way into the house via the window of the sleeping couple's bedroom.
Ni Wayan Sampreg, Delgo's Balinese wife of 25 years, told police that she recognized the voice of one of the robbers.
After attacking Delgo, they forced the victim to show them where valuables were kept in the house before stealing some Rp. 500 million in cash (US$55,500) and a number of valuable personal items before tying up the couple and locking them in a bathroom.
The woman managed to free herself at 6:00 am and raise the alarm with the police.
Sampreg recognized one of the assailants which has enabled Police to launch a manhunt for the man and his accomplices.
