Adopting the "Soul of Bali" as its theme, the Banyan Tree Ungasan, Bali hosted 400 select guests to its gala grand opening on Saturday evening, January 22, 2011.
Joining the event were Balinese and Jakarta glitterati who were treated to an exciting evening of entertainment and festivities featuring fire-jugglers and stilt-walkers together with music from top-line national entertainers.
The evening started off with popular Indonesian recording-artist Tompi taking the stage with his acoustic band. This was followed by an exciting set performed by two Indonesian performers divas - Vina Panduwinata and Syaharani,
Later a fashion shows featuring swimsuits by
NicoNico of Germany and the
Indonesian Association of Fashion Designers (APPMI).The musical evening continued with French-Indonesian recording artist Anggun who left the stage under a sky filled with fireworks that heralded a special DJ performance by DJs Riri and Anastasia.
The Banyan Tree Ungasan, Bali has been recognized by
Condé Nast Traveler as one of the 45 best new hotels to open in its "Hot List." The resort offers 73 spool villas perched set on the southernmost cliffs of Bali.
