Bavarian Culinary Team at Banyan Tree Bali

Chef Hubert Obendorfer Brings Team from Kingfisher Michelin-Starred Restaurant to Bali for 5 Nights at Banyan Tree, Ungasan.

For five delicious nights February 24-28, 2011, Jumana Restaurant at Banyan Tree Resort, Ungasan will dazzle guests both with its cliff-top vistas and the culinary talents of winning Michelin Star Chef and cookbook author Hubert Obendorfer coming to Bali from the from the world-famous Kingfisher Restaurant of The Landhotel, Birkenhof, Bavaria, Germany.

Joining Chef Hubert from Bavaria is an expert culinary team, including his star chef de cuisine Christa Dirmaier, sous-chef Christian Schider and his stellar sommelier Holger Steck - all combing forces with Maestro Obendorfer for their 5-night Bali engagement.

Representing the Bali home team in the kitchen will be Banyan Tree's own chef de cuisine Mandif Warokka who is, in his own right, one of Bali's rising culinary stars [See: King of the Cliff at Banyan Tree's Jumana Restaurant].

Each evening this international all-star cast of cooks will present to a maximum of 50 privileged diners exquisite wine pairings for multi-course a-la-carte or table d'hôte dining.

Chef Hubert was voted as 'Discovery of the Year' by The Great Restaurant & Hotel Guide 2008 and is a member of Eurotoques and the Chaine des Rôtisseurs. He is also a member of the Audit Committee for Chefs and has received the distinguished title of "Maison de Qualité."

In December 2008, Chef Hubert was awarded the coveted a one-star Michelin rating for his Kingfisher Restaurant, an honor he repeated again the following year in 2009.

Hubert Obendorfer has featured live on more than 150 cooking shows and hosts his own program on German Radio's Charivari. His inaugural cook book 'The Fine Eastern Bavarian Country Kitchen is a best-selling introduction to the fine dining experience that he champions.

A second cookbook 'Kitchen Classics Re-Interpreted' was published in September 2009.
